One of the main causes of people missing work is lower back pain. Due to the fact that your lower back supports the weight of your upper body, it is incredibly stressed and strained. Due to twisting and lifting, the lower back is subject to particularly harsh forces during the day.
From dull aches to stabbing pains, lower back pain can cause a range of symptoms. Moving, straightening your back, or standing up is difficult with these symptoms.

If you lift a heavy object the wrong way, you might experience lower back pain. Degenerative conditions such as arthritis may also cause it.
It is difficult to shake off lower back pain, no matter what the cause. A recent bout of lower back pain is reported by approximately 25% of Americans. Almost every person will suffer from some degree of lower back pain in their lifetime.

The affected area should be cooled
You should apply ice to the injured area for the first 24 to 48 hours after the injury. Professor of Physical Therapy E. Anne Reicherter of the University of Maryland says that ice will reduce inflammation caused by the injury.
Warming the area will provide some relief. Heating the area will, however, exacerbate the symptoms of inflammation. It is recommended to only use heat after the first 48 hours after an injury.
In either case, you should remove the ice or heat after twenty minutes to allow your skin to recuperate. Consult your doctor if you continue to experience pain.
