Warzone 2 is Available Now

After months of hype, the free-to-play battle royale game Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is now available on PC, PlayStation, & Xbox systems.

Fans can start playing Call of Duty: Warzone 2 for free as the game is now available on both consoles & PC. Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is the sequel to Warzone, a free-to-play battle royale game released in 2020 that exploded in popularity in the last two years. Warzone reached an impressive number of 85 million players in 2020 & that total grew to over 100 million last year.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 adds a few new features to the st&ard battle royale gameplay, including a Circle Collapse system that spawns multiple safe circles across the map. The Gulag mechanic returns from Warzone, but it functions as a 2v2 encounter this time. Given the success of Warzone & the popularity of the Call of Duty franchise in general, there was a lot of hype surrounding the launch of Warzone 2, but users will not have to wait any longer.

Gamers around the world can now start playing Call of Duty: Warzone 2 for free on consoles & PC. Activision had previously confirmed that Warzone 2 will launch on November 16 at 10 AM PT, & fans can access it after downloading its game pack in Modern Warfare 2. Similar to 2019’s Modern Warfare & the original Warzone, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is connected to Modern Warfare 2 as both games use the same application.

However, users who just want to play MW2 are not forced to download Warzone 2, thereby saving some crucial storage space. For others, an earlier report suggested that Warzone 2 has a massive file size, as it takes over 100 GB of space. Although, this total may include the base files needed to run Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Fans should note that the original Warzone is now offline, but it will return at 10 AM PT on November 28 as Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera. This means that users who want to continue playing Warzone will be unable to do so for around 12 days. Although, anyone who has played Call of Duty: Warzone will receive a few items as gifts in Warzone 2, so players may be encouraged to try it out.

In addition to battle royale, Warzone 2 features a new DMZ game mode with a focus on survival & extraction. Players will be tasked with finding loot & escaping via a safe zone as they face off against both human & AI opponents.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, & Xbox Series X/S.
