Childe Team Comp Guide – Genshin Impact

[ad_1]

Team management is the name of the game in Genshin Impact. From creating elemental reactions to team roles to even height differences, everything must be taken into account. That said, there exists one character in the world of Teyvat that operates completely differently compared to other characters.

Childe, aka Tartaglia, represents the Fatui in the Liyue-arc of Genshin Impact’s story. As a war-hungry warrior, Tartaglia fights with a gr& mix of Hydro-infused melee & ranged attacks. This mix makes the Fatui Harbinger one of the most versatile fighters & one of the hardest to pair, but some characters make better teammates than others.

Updated on November 29th, 2022, by Nahda Nabiilah: Tartaglia surprisingly has one of the most banners in Genshin Impact so far. Apart from his initial release in version 1.1, up until Genshin Impact 3.2, Childe has had three re-runs, meaning he has four banners in total. Meanwhile, in version 3.3, his Harbinger comrade, Scaramouche, will be released. With the ever-increasing list of playable characters in the game, naturally, there are now more characters that are suitable to be paired with Childe in his Genshin Impact team comp. This list has been updated to include them.

19/19 Kazuha

  • Rarity:
    5-star

  • Element:
    Anemo

  • Weapon:
    Sword

  • Recommended Team Role:
    Support, Sub-DPS

Kaedehara Kazuha is an Unbelievable pair with Childe. He’s usually paired with the Harbinger in an international team with Xiangling & Bennett. The term “international” comes from the fact that each character in this comp comes from a different region, with Childe from Snezhnaya, Kazuha from Inazuma, Xiangling from Liyue, & Bennett from Mondstadt.

The idea here is that Bennett & Xiangling will enable Pyro, Kazuha collects the enemies, & Childe enjoys his massive AoE thanks to the provided crowd control.

18/19 Bennett

  • Rarity:
    4-star

  • Element:
    Pyro

  • Weapon:
    Sword

  • Recommended Team Role:
    Support, Healer

Bennett is one of the best supports in Genshin Impact, & he fits in almost every team comp. He easily provides ATK buff, healing, cleansing, & he can even work as a Genshin Impact Battery. The combination of Childe, Kazuha, Bennett, & Mona is often used to create a large number from Tartaglia’s elemental burst.

Of course, as Genshin Impact grows, there are now many units that can deal Enormous numbers. Nevertheless, this old meta will always be memorable.

17/19 Yelan

  • Rarity:
    5-star

  • Element:
    Hydro

  • Weapon:
    Bow

  • Recommended Team Role:
    Sub-DPS

Both Yelan & Xingqiu are excellent with Childe, but thanks to the Hydro Resonance change in Genshin Impact 3.0, Yelan becomes far better in a double Hydro team. Since Yelan purely scales with HP, having a second Hydro in her team will enhance her HP by a whopping 25%.

Since Childe’s melee hits are considered normal attacks, he can trigger both Yelan’s & Xingqiu’s elemental burst, increasing the team’s DPS with their priceless sub-DPS hits.

16/19 Nahida

nahida-childe-beidou-kazuha in genshin impact

  • Rarity:
    5-star

  • Element:
    Dendro

  • Weapon:
    Catalyst

  • Recommended Team Role:
    Support, Sub-DPS

The Dendro Archon is easily one of the best supports & sub-DPS in Genshin Impact. Her elemental skill can continuously deal Dendro damage effortlessly, & her elemental burst can grant a large elemental mastery boost to the active character.

Nahida & Childe will create the bloom Dendro reaction in Genshin Impact. After that, players can use an Electro or Pyro characters to trigger hyperbloom & burgeon, respectively. Alternatively, people can use Nilou & Yelan for a Hydro + Dendro team & enjoys the massive damage provided by Nilou’s Bountiful Cores.

15/19 Lisa

genshin impact lisa elemental burst

  • Rarity:
    4-star

  • Element:
    Electro

  • Weapon:
    Catalyst

  • Recommended Team Role:
    Support, Sub-DPS

Many Genshin Impact fans don’t consider free characters for their teams. These characters tend to be regarded as too underwhelming for consideration, however, Lisa is very useful when paired with Tartaglia.

Most specifically, Lisa’s elemental burst creates an area of effect that applies Electro damage to opponents. Coupled with Childe’s melee stance, this combination can be a heavy source of electro-charged DPS.

14/19 Sayu

genshin impact sayu stretching idle animation

  • Rarity:
    4-star

  • Element:
    Anemo

  • Weapon:
    Claymore

  • Recommended Team Role:
    Healer

Inazuma’s tiny ninja from the Shuumatsuban, Sayu makes for a good pair with Tartaglia. Every good DPS needs a healer of some kind, & for Childe, an offense-centric healer works incredibly well.

RELATED: Genshin Impact: The Best Builds For Sayu

For Sayu, she offers an elemental burst which both heals & attacks with Anemo damage. In the end, this means that Sayu can heal Tartaglia & act as a good source of swirl reactions.

13/19 Ganyu

genshin impact ganyu elemental burst

  • Rarity:
    5-star

  • Element:
    Cryo

  • Weapon:
    Bow

  • Recommended Team Role:
    DPS, Sub-DPS

It may seem strange to use two DPS characters in a team. But in the case of Ganyu, Tartaglia can work very amicably. Sometimes, two DPS characters in Genshin Impact can have talents that work off of each other.

For starters, Tartaglia can act as an enabler at times for fairly simple frozen reactions. However, the real meat of this pairing comes from Ganyu’s elemental burst, which creates an area of effect that showers down ice crystals on opponents. Entering melee stance, Childe can decimate opponents while freezing them in the process.

12/19 Yoimiya

  • Rarity:
    5-star

  • Element:
    Pyro

  • Weapon:
    Bow

  • Recommended Team Role:
    Sub-DPS, Support

Another character released with Inazuma, Yoimiya has perhaps the most unique playstyle among Genshin Impact’s bow-users. Her elemental skill turns her normal shots into flaming arrows.

However, when it comes to being paired with Tartaglia, Yoimiya’s elemental burst is where she really shines. After she marks one opponent (at a time), another character hitting said target will cause Pyro damage as well. This can make for easy vaporized damage, heavily elevating Tartaglia’s DPS.

11/19 Zhongli

genshin impact trailer zhongli polearm thrust

  • Rarity:
    5-star

  • Element:
    Geo

  • Weapon:
    Polearm

  • Recommended Team Role:
    Support

Tartaglia & Zhongli interacted a lot during the Liyue arc in Genshin Impact’s story. However, while they may not be on the best of terms now, they offer mutual benefits when paired together.

RELATED: Genshin Impact: Mistakes Players Make When Using Zhongli

Quite simply, Zhongli has the best shielding in the game. By offering constant shielding, either through Zhongli’s Jade Shield or crystallize reactions, players can focus entirely on attacking.

10/19 Qiqi

genshin impact story quest qiqi

  • Rarity:
    5-star

  • Element:
    Cryo

  • Weapon:
    Sword

  • Recommended Team Role:
    Healer

When icy Cryo meets Hydro, it makes for a frozen reaction. However, what happens when an excellent Cryo healer meets a war-hardened Hydro fighter. Qiqi & Tartaglia make an excellent team, with Qiqi’s automated Cryo healing abilities blending easily with Tartaglia’s constant melee.

Players often underestimate the strength of a good healer. When fighting close up & personal, especially against harder opponents like the Ruin Hunter, Tartaglia takes a lot of damage. Qiqi counteracts this with her elemental skill, summoning a Herald of Frost to both heal & inflict Cryo damage.

9/19 Keqing

genshin impact keqing elemental burst animation

  • Rarity:
    5-star

  • Element:
    Electro

  • Weapon:
    Sword

  • Recommended Team Role:
    Sub-DPS, Support

Electro’s electrocharged reaction is the best Hydro reaction for crowded situations. Electrocuting every enemy in the area affected by the status, one of Keqing’s merits lays in her ability to easily access this reaction.

RELATED: Genshin Impact: Things You Didn’t Know About Electro

Tartaglia is one of the best characters when it comes to applying Hydro status to opponents (second to catalyst-users like Mona & Barbara). Mix this in with an expert in causing Electro status, & these two make for one of the best combinations for crowd warfare.

8/19 Fischl

genshin impact fischl oz electro

  • Rarity:
    4-star

  • Element:
    Electro

  • Weapon:
    Bow

  • Recommended Team Role:
    Support

Not everybody has five-star characters like Keqing, especially players that play without spending money. While playing the banners smartly will yield better results, some excellent four-star supports for Tartaglia do exist. Fischl is a great alternative to Keqing if players are looking for Electro support.

Not only does Fischl apply Electro with her charged attacks but she also has an automated skill. Her companion Oz can be summoned to shoot Electro projectiles for her, allowing Tartaglia to apply Hydro in the process.

7/19 Diona

genshin impact diona bow

  • Rarity:
    4-star

  • Element:
    Cryo

  • Weapon:
    Bow

  • Recommended Team Role:
    Healer, Support

When a character borderlines between a frontliner & a ranged fighter, taking damage becomes an everyday occurrence. While a good designated healer can make up for this, a support healer makes for better usage of a team slot. Diona suits this bill for Tartaglia.

RELATED: Genshin Impact: Mistakes Players Make When Using Diona

Diona’s burst creates a temporary zone for healing, allowing Tartaglia to continue to fight while regaining health. This doesn’t even mention Diona’s Unbelievable use of shields & Cryo application, which help dodge damage & create frozen reactions respectively. Players will find that Diona makes for one of the best support healers for Tartaglia in more ways than one.

6/19 Xiangling

genshin impact xiangling guoba wangshu inn elevator liyue

  • Rarity:
    4-star

  • Element:
    Pyro

  • Weapon:
    Polearm

  • Recommended Team Role:
    Support, Sub-DPS

Much like Fischl, Xiangling offers an automated way to bring Pyro to the battlefield. Her companion, a bear named Guoba, targets opponents in her stead with his fiery breath. Guoba may not be the most accurate, but this hardly will matter against a large crowd of Hilichurls.

In addition, Xiangling’s burst (which summons three swirling fire wheels) can be transferred to another character. This is a perfect combination with Tartaglia’s melee mode, making for easy-to-access vaporize reactions when he enters his melee mode.

5/19 Hu Tao

genshin impact hu tao ghost sitting

  • Rarity:
    5-star

  • Element:
    Pyro

  • Weapon:
    Polearm

  • Recommended Team Role:
    DPS

Xiangling may be the original Pyro polearm but Hu Tao offers a completely different side of the puzzle. Tartaglia’s ability to act as both a support & a DPS truly shows in this situation. Hu Tao is among the best DPS characters in the game, ranking up with characters like Diluc & Ganyu.

RELATED: Genshin Impact: Mistakes Players Make When Using Hu Tao

Hu Tao’s talents infuse her polearm with Pyro, which does high damage on its own with just charged attacks. With Tartaglia in the support role, inflicting enemies with Hydro, Hu Tao’s damage can easily be doubled or more.

4/19 Beidou

Genshin Impact Wolf's Gravestone Glowing Claymore Beidou Pirate

  • Rarity:
    4-star

  • Element:
    Electro

  • Weapon:
    Claymore

  • Recommended Team Role:
    DPS, Sub-DPS

Two battle-hardened warriors & comm&ers of their respective groups? It’s no surprise that the hardliner Beidou would make for an Unbelievable DPS partner to Tartaglia. Beidou offers not only easy-to-access electro-charged reactions for crowded situations but also a skill that can stall during Tartaglia’s cooldown phase.

Beidou’s skill is among the most hard-hitting skills in the game. Generating a temporary shield, her claymore slash will hit harder the more damage she takes. Her potential to hit more than one opponent leads to devastating results should she hit a crowd after an assault from Tartaglia.

3/19 Sucrose

Genshin Impact Sucrose Air Explosion Idle Animation

  • Rarity:
    4-star

  • Element:
    Anemo

  • Weapon:
    Catalyst

  • Recommended Team Role:
    Support, DPS

It’s fairly well-known that Sucrose is among the best with elemental reactions. Sucrose’s elemental mastery goes a long way for any partner with a skill outside Anemo & Geo. Tartaglia does exempt himself from Sucrose’s mastery.

RELATED: Genshin Impact: Things You Didn’t Know About Sucrose

Sucrose could work very well in both the DPS or support positions. As a DPS, she makes use of Tartaglia’s Hydro-infused attacks to increase her swirl damage. As a support, she offers excellent crowd control with her talents for tactical assistance.

2/19 Yanfei

genshin impact yanfei

  • Rarity:
    4-star

  • Element:
    Pyro

  • Weapon:
    Catalyst

  • Recommended Team Role:
    DPS, Support

Despite her new addition to the franchise, Liyue’s top legal specialist has already accrued a hefty reputation. Yanfei’s skill with rapid-fire Pyro projectiles features both easy applications of burn status & considerable damage.

This makes her a perfect teammate for players wanting to enhance their Tartaglia gameplay. If the opponent actually survives Yanfei’s weights, a vaporized assault from Tartaglia will finish the job.

1/19 Diluc

genshin impact diluc story quest

  • Rarity:
    5-star

  • Element:
    Pyro

  • Weapon:
    Claymore

  • Recommended Team Role:
    DPS, Sub-DPS

High-powered damage, easy-to-use Pyro talents, Diluc is ironically the best partner to the Fatui Harbinger. What makes Diluc such a good partner is his ability to act as both a DPS & support to Tartaglia. With easy-to-use Pyro infusion, Diluc can act the DPS & hold his own or switch roles when his health is low.

Both Diluc’s skill & burst work to bring Pyro-infusion to his normal attacks. For his skill, it effectively becomes a part of his normal attack sequence. His burst infuses his blade for a temporary period making the process even simpler. No character is better for setting up Tartaglia for vaporizing reactions.
