Layla in Genshin Impact is not a highly unique character. Diona already exists as a Cryo Shielder, while Layla’s ultimate is somewhat similar to Ganyu’s. However, while her kits are not very unique, the combination of Diona’s shield + Ganyu’s Burst AoE allows Layla to be a decent Support & Cryo Enabler at the same time.

The best build for Layla in Genshin Impact revolves around HP, making her easy to build as she doesn’t dem& specific artifacts.

Layla Best Build In Genshin Impact

The best build for Layla in Genshin Impact is split into three categories:

• Shielder build
• Support build
• Sub-DPS build

Shielder Build For Layla

Shielder build Layla focuses on maximizing the strength of her Genshin Impact shield. For this task, players should stack as much HP as possible.

Layla can use Key of Khaj-Nisut to maximize her HP, but those who missed out on this weapon can also opt for Primordial Jade Cutter for the 20% extra HP. Meanwhile, Sacrificial Sword allows Layla to reset the cooldown of her Elemental Skill, which means players can recast her shield if it breaks before the duration ends.

Support Build For Layla

Support Layla still works as a Shielder, but her main focus would be to buff her teammates. For this, players can use:

• Key of Khaj-Nisut for Elemental Mastery boost
• Freedom-Sworn to buff ATK & Normal, Charged, & Plunge DMG
• Favonius Sword to use Layla as a Genshin Impact Battery

For the artifact set, 4pc Noblesse Oblige can grant ATK buff when Layla casts her Burst, while 4pc Tenacity of the Millelith can buff each time she deals damage with her Elemental Skill. Considering Layla will keep damaging enemies with her Shooting Star, she theoretically can maintain 4pc Tenacity of the Millelith’s effect with a decent uptime.

Sub-DPS Build For Layla

Players who have other Shielder or Healer in the team can also build Layla as a Sub-DPS. The best way to maximize her damage is by playing her in a Freeze team comp like the Genshin Impact Morgana team.

Since Layla’s Elemental Burst scales with her HP, her Timepiece should have HP as the main stat. As for the weapons, Swords that grant Critical Rate or Damage & HP are great options.
