Jessie James Decker denies ‘overtraining’ kids to have abs

Jessie James Decker has more to say about her children’s athletic physiques, which lit up Instagram over the Thanksgiving holiday.
After clapping back at a h&ful of critics in the comments section of a photo featuring Vivianne, 8, Eric Jr., 7, & Forrest, 4, flashing extremely ripped abs in swimsuits on a beach in Mexico, the singer dedicated an entire post to shutting down the “bonkers” controversy once & for all.
“When I posted the pix of our vacation & included the kids being silly flexing on the beach on our thanksgiving trip I had NO clue it would get the reaction it did,” Jessie, who is married to Eric Decker, captioned a video compilation on Monday of the couple’s children enjoying their tropical getaway.
“But Being accused of photoshopping abs on my kids (I can’t help but laugh) or … the polar opposite over ‘overtraining’ our kids makes me realize how bizarre our world has gotten regarding the body & what’s normal & what’s not,” she wrote.
The 34-year-old — who admittedly struggles with body image issues & bouts of obsessive weight fluctuation — told her followers that she & her retired football player husb&, 35, make it a point to “preach about body positivity & acceptance” in their house.
Jessie said they want to raise their kids “to feel proud of their bodies & hard work,” going on to reference Vivi’s “elite competitive gymnastics,” Eric Jr.’s desire “to be like his dad as an NFL receiver” & Forrest’s hours-long sessions of “dancing his heart out.”
“But my kids having a mass amount of genetic & built muscle from athletics is ‘weird’?” she penned, adding, “Let’s not pick & choose what we normalize regarding bodies & be accepting of all people & children.”
The country songstress then invoked a variation of Maya Angelou’s famous words & encouraged her fans to “do better.”
“I’m proud of my children & encourage them to live their dreams,” she concluded her post, going on to joke, “We’ll see y’all at the 2032 Olympics, & wearing Bubbys jersey in the st&s & dancing at Forrests rock concert✌️.”
Eric showered his wife with love & support by commenting, “U get mama bear 🙌🏾🦁.” Fellow celebrity moms also backed her up.
“I’m sorry this even had to be addressed 😢,” “Jersey Shore” star Jenni “JWoww” Farley wrote, which was followed by Jamie Lynn Spears’ remark, “Yes mam [sic]!!! Your kids won the genetic lottery!! Go team Decker.”
And C&ace Cameron Bure, who’s in the middle of navigating her own unrelated internet controversy, dropped the emojis, “👏👏.”
