Kylie Jenner denies ‘covering up’ for Balenciaga amid ad sc&al

Kylie Jenner is clapping back — sort of, anyway.
The reality star posted a series of photos on Instagram Monday, including two new pics of her 9-month-old son formerly known as Wolf — but commenters were quick to cast a skeptical lens on the peek into her personal life.
One TikTok user suggested that Jenner, 25, posted the rare glimpses of her baby — whose name & face have yet to be released to the public — as a way to distract the public’s attention from Kim Kardashian’s ties to Balenciaga & the backlash the fashion br& is receiving for two recent campaigns.
The luxury label’s holiday gift collection ads, which sparked outrage this weekend, feature children holding stuffed animals dressed in bondage-inspired outfits.
Eagle-eyed fashion fans then noticed that an image from Balenciaga’s earlier spring 2023 campaign includes a printout of a child pornography-related court document in the background, adding fuel to the fire.
“Using your son to take the attention away from the Balenciaga sc&al…. Classic Kylie,” one person commented on Jenner’s Instagram post of the family snaps, while another wrote, “Interesting we start seeing baby photos with all the heat they are getting right now. Well played Kris!!!”
Jenner responded to the accusations on TikTok, commenting on a critic’s clip, “Uh whyyyyyy would i post my child to cover up for balenciaga ? this is why i don’t do this. always something to say.”
Ironically, the Kylie Cosmetics founder happened to be wearing Balenciaga in one of the photos she shared, posing in a pair of the br&’s platform boots ($1,250) & silver sunglasses ($630).
Still, some jumped to Jenner’s defense. “[The Kardashian-Jenners] could find a cure for cancer & people would still criticize,” one person commented on Comments by Celebs’ post about the brouhaha, while another added, “Agree with Kylie!! Not her responsibility to cover up something she had nothing to do with.”
Kylie’s sister Kim — who almost exclusively wears Balenciaga & is very closely tied to the fashion house — issued a statement about the sc&al Sunday night, after many fans pushed her to speak up about the controversial ads.
Julia Fox has since defended Kardashian, questioning why people are calling to cancel the “women with professional ties” to Balenciaga rather than those responsible for the ads.
Balenciaga has posted two apologies for the campaign shots in question.
