One Piece is among the most popular shonen series of all time. It started serializing in the Weekly Shonen Jump in 1997, & since then it has become a must-read for any manga fan. Aside from its incredible world-building & storyline, One Piece also boasts of having some very impressive characters.
These characters manage to st& out from the rest due to their personalities, & powers. They are extremely strong, & many of them have the ability to wipe out isl&s on their own. With that in mind, here are the strongest characters in One Piece.
Only characters who are alive have been included in the list.
10/10 Eustass Kid
Eustass Kid is the captain of the Kid Pirates, who were one of the main allies of the Straw Hat Pirates in the Wano Country arc. Originally from South Blue, Kid & his crew made a name for themselves in a short period, & by the time they made their first appearance, the crew had a combined bounty of over 400 million berries.
Kid possesses the Jiki Jiki no Mi, a paramecia type devil fruit that allows him to control magnetic forces. Normally Kid could only use his power on metallic objects, but after awakening his devil fruit, he could use it to turn a living being into a magnet. Kid is also able to use all three types, making him a very special character. Kid was able to take down Huge Mom by collaborating with Trafalgar Law.

Trafalgar Law is a member of the Worst Generation & the captain of the Heart Pirates. He has been involved in almost every single arc since the time skip, which has helped the fans to underst& his character better. Law possesses the Ope Ope no Mi, which is a paramecia type devil fruit.
The devil fruit allows its user to create ROOMs in which they can freely control everything. By awakening his devil fruit, Law was able to improve his attacks further. While fighting Huge Mom, his devil fruit ability came in h&y. Furthermore, Law was able to hold off & injure Blackbeard, which is proof enough of his strength.
8/10 Sabo
Sabo is the chief of staff of the Revolutionary Army meaning he is only second to Dragon in terms of authority. Before consuming the Mera Mera no Mi, Sabo was entirely dependent on his Haki to defeat his opponents. So, he trained a lot to improve his Haki & he even created his own style of fighting, known as Ryusoken.
Sabo has a logia type devil fruit, & it allows him to freely manipulate fire. While Sabo has not gone all out in a fight yet, he was easily able to hold off Fujitora in Dressrosa, & he also managed to rescue Kuma from Marijoa. Both these feats prove that he’s a very powerful character.
7/10 Dracule Mihawk
Dracule Mihawk served as a Shichibukai, but after the system was abolished, he became a wanted man once again. Mihawk holds the title of the “Strongest Swordsman in the World,” which puts him in an elite bracket of fighters.
Mihawk used to be called the “Naval Hunter,” as he would ruthlessly hunt down anyone affiliated with the Navy. Mihawk was also rivals with Shanks, & the battle between the two shook the Gr& Line. Mihawk has numerous feats to his name, & he is truly deserving of a bounty as high as 3,590,000,000 berries.
6/10 Monkey D. Dragon
Monkey D. Dragon is the leader of the Revolutionary Army. It is unknown why Dragon founded the Revolutionary Army, but it would be plausible to assume that he has some kind of insight into the misdeeds of the World Government.
Dragon is yet to be in an important fight, so it is difficult to gauge his strength. There are a few things that imply that Dragon could be on the same level as a Fleet Admiral/Yonko, with one of them being his title of “World’s Worst Criminal.”
5/10 Akainu
Akainu became the new Fleet Admiral of the Marines after defeating Aokiji in an intense fight on Punk Hazard. As an avid believer in Absolute Justice, Akainu is willing to go to any extremes to ensure that justice is served. Akainu is relentless & ruthless in his pursuit of pirates & other criminals.
He possesses the Magu Magu no Mi, a logia type devil fruit that allows him to create & manipulate magma at will. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call it the logia with the most offensive power. He was able to withst& multiple blows from Whitebeard, & even after the Marines won the war, he continued to hunt the pirates.
4/10 Monkey D. Luffy
Monkey D. Luffy is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates & one of the Yonko. In the Wano Country arc, Luffy faced the toughest challenge yet as he went up against Kaido, who held the title of the “Strongest Creature in the World.”
Luffy managed to defeat the Yonko by combining his devil fruit awakening with his Advanced Conqueror’s Haki. The victory made Luffy very famous & the World Government increased his bounty to 3 billion berries.
3/10 Blackbeard

Deemed by many to be the final villain in the series, Blackbeard is without a doubt one of the strongest characters in One Piece. He is the only character with two devil fruits. The first one is the Yami Yami no Mi, a logia type devil fruit that allows him to nullify the effects of other devil fruits & manipulate darkness.
His second devil fruit is the Gura Gura no Mi with which he can create quakes anywhere. This particular devil fruit is said to have the power to destroy the world itself, which makes him one of the strongest characters in the series.
2/10 Shanks
Shanks is the chief of the Red Hair Pirates. So far, he is the only known Yonko who does not have a devil fruit. Shanks uses his Haki to fight his opponents, & he has obviously mastered it.
Shanks’ power remains unknown, but judging by the fact that he has managed to stop characters such as Kaido, & Akainu without any problems, it would be foolish to consider him a weakling. Shanks demonstrated a fraction of his strength when he scared Ryokugyu with his Conqueror’s Haki while not being anywhere near the Admiral’s location.
1/10 Imu
Imu is the sovereign of the World Government & arguably the strongest character in One Piece. Imu seems to have access to some kind of ability/weapon that allowed him to destroy the Kingdom of Lulusia in an instant.
Any individual that has access to such a ridiculous amount of power cannot be disregarded, & as the story moves toward its end, Imu’s real power will be disclosed as well.
