Overwatch 2 Player Joins Match And Faces T-Posing Team
One Overwatch 2 player finds themselves facing a team of T-Posing heroes followed by a parade of glitches after joining a match late.
An unfortunate Overwatch 2 player witnesses a victory screen consisting of a T-Posing team of heroes followed by a barrage of bugs which only get more confusing by the second after joining late into a match on Eichenwalde. Many of Overwatch 2‘s most pressing technical issues were resolved shortly after the game first released, but some of the smaller, less-impactful bugs remain, which occasionally make for some hilarious moments.
Overwatch 2 has been somewhat notorious for its long list of bugs, most of which were more of a problem when the game first released. Several issues, such as a completely broken Ultimate ability, have been so severe that two heroes had to be completely removed from the game for a short time. Mei was the most recent hero to be sent to what the community calls the “Overwatch jail,” with Blizzard only returning her to matches alongside a long-awaited balance patch. Although server crashes & missing cosmetics are less of a problem now than they were at launch, some smaller issues such as lighting bugs & broken animations are occasionally still seen by players.
In this case however, a user on Reddit known as Crit012658 experiences so many visual bugs in such a short time that the provided clip looks nothing short of a fever dream. After connecting late to a game on Eichenwalde, the player immediately finds themselves greeted by a team of T-Posing characters thanks to their victory screen stances not loading properly. The fun doesn’t stop there though, as the subsequent Play of the Gamea fails to load the highlight intro as well, with the camera instead clipping into the character model & resulting in a weird blob to be presented on the screen. To top things off, the Play of the Game itself doesn’t load either, being replaced simply with several seconds of silence over a black screen.
As hilarious as this whole scene is, it should be noted that many of the bugs observed in that clip have persisted from the first Overwatch game, & apparently still occur in the rare cases that players load into a game after it ends. It would seem likely that Blizzard is aware of these sorts of loading issues, & perhaps hasn’t yet addressed them since they don’t directly impact gameplay in any meaningful way.
That said, Blizzard has acknowledged a recent glitch which does impact gameplay. An unintended bug was brought along with the latest balance patch, which causes Tracer’s damage falloff to be negated if she’s less than 20 meters away from a target. Though this hasn’t yet been fixed, the developers have hinted that they’re planning to upwardly adjust Tracer’s capabilities in the near future.
Overwatch 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, & Xbox Series X/S.
