Around 1.3 million rupees ($18,500) in chewed-up cash was discovered by Indian bank workers investigating a broken-down automated teller machine earlier this month. Additionally, a dead mouse was found.
The branch manager at the State Bank of India’s Tinsukia location, Chandan Sharma, told Reuters that the automated teller machine (ATM) had been out of commission for a few days. When our technicians unlocked the kiosk, they were astonished to discover shredded bills and a dead rat.
This unusual occurrence has prompted us to initiate an inquiry, and we will take steps to ensure that it does not happen again.
